A Practice

The most common thing I believe humans tend to overlook is what they already have given it be: the newest smartphone, the newest fridge, the most expensive car and the list goes on. At the same time, that makes us never satisfied with what we already have and causes us to develop intensive urges of wanting and annoyance when we don't get something we want. Yet, once we have something that we've been wanting for a long time, many--not everyone tend to take it for granted and see it as not as important anymore.

We should all practice this art and take a few minutes out of each day and learn to be grateful for having what we have. Family, friends, coworkers, a job, a roof over our heads, a phone, enough clothes to last us through all four seasons, a car, a working body. What would do if you lost the one you love the most, your parents, your job- ? No one ever thought they could lose some of these things because it's human nature that they believe they can weasel their way into not losing them in some way. But no one knows the pain and depth of losing a loved one of family until they experience it themselves from the closest front seat. That is why people tend to shake off losing something as if it was nothing especially material things.

We're always seeking happiness from outside the circle of what we already have and that is not the natural order of life. We should be content with what we already have and find joy in what we already possess. I am not saying don't buy more things- it's okay to have hobbies and collect things but to never ever take what you already have for granted. Don't forget the fight, the passion, the love, the will to have it grow faint in your memory. You bought something because you wanted it badly, right? You should put it some where so it catches your eye everyday. You confessed to someone because you love them, right? Then don't do things to hurt them and treasure them every single day. You shouldn't be breaking up with someone because of reasons you even find it hard to believe to cover up your loss of interest and this goes for people and materialistic items.

This also goes for politics and what is going on around the world too. Trump went to extremities to become the president of the country yet he is also taking what he has right now for granted and treating all his supporters and politicians like garbage. He has much praciticng to do. A ruler of a country should treasure his land, his people, and his advisors and not be sprouting lies and conspiracies all around them. I believe that is the most basic lesson for monarchs, kings, rulers, dictators in the books---that is if you go back to way B.C. or take a look at history during imperial rulings in Korea, Japan, China, and Europe (which still is). Of course there were kings that were tyrants and didn't give a bit about their people but majority of them did. Trump has so much to learn and I am sorry I don't think he'll ever understand. Because he wants so much, that is sadly human nature all they want is: 'want, want, want, want, want.' And losing sight of what they already have.

As for N. Korea, that's just a lost cause, Kim only wants U.S. to acknowledge that they have nuclear weapons and is as powerful as other countries that have these weapons (this is what I've heard and understood since the last time I checked the news). This is very childish of N. Korea. It goes back to not being grateful for having what you have, taking it for granted, and then waving it like a toy at Trump. You have nuclear weapons? Great but be quiet about it and don't take it out for a spin like a car no one thought you had. Be grateful for having a country. Don't take where you are now for granted is what I want to say to Kim.

This goes for Trump and Kim. I feel they should both stop causing problems and having spitting contests with each other and be happy with where they are in life. Focus on bettering life for their citizens and carrying out things that they promised they would do for their people. Do not take people's support for granted because people can also replace leaders.

Again- this is why I don't make much posts anymore on politics or pay attention to the news unless its about local matters or something crucial that may affect me. Because people- not only politicians have strayed so far from morals, values, and beliefs.

It is all wishful thinking. Writers, teachers, spiritual masters can lecture on all of these matters but if no one wants to listen and practice these methods then nothing will ever change. It's just all a natural order of how fate is supposed to flow and how people's fates are supposed to go. All we can do is better ourselves.

I apologize if this post or certain aspects are offensive. My morals and values are very traditional and based off Confucius (because one of my aunts was very big on him) and mixtures of other teachings from ancient Chinese scholars.
